So Lucky.

While out shopping at Fashion Square this afternoon with my parents-someone in passing said something to me that I just can't get out of my head.

As most new moms experience- you often get the passerby who stops and peeks into the stroller to catch a glance of your new baby ... followed by the "oh, your baby is so cute" comment.

So when I saw this woman coming at us in the middle of Macy's, I was prepared for the usual drill. I firmly stood beside the stroller prepared to block her in case she tried to touch Lucy (germs people. it's still flu season) and wait to answer the usual string of questions: Boy or Girl?(um, she's wearing a pink bow in her hair), How old is she? Is she a good baby? Is your little boy a good big brother?
However- this woman said something to me no stranger has ever said before.
She looked at me and said- "Wow. 2 kids. You are so lucky."
My mom and I politely nodded and went on our way.

From then on- I couldn't stop thinking about what this woman said.
Don't get me wrong. Chris and I know how fortunate we are... and we are very thankful. But to hear someone else say it- in such an admiring way... I get emotional every time I think about it.
Chris and I are very lucky! We are blessed with the gift of parenthood... and in no way do we ever take it for granted.
However- I appreciate that this woman put it into perspective for me all over again.
