Chris and I love celebrating the Fourth.
Mostly because it was the day we shared our 1st Date 9 Years ago.
In the past- we usually shared a romantic dinner together. But now that we have Jack (and not to mention a real anniversary now) we couldn't wait to party.
Since Jack was still technically a newborn last 4th of July- we considered this year to be his first actual Firework Show.
We started the day off by sleeping in!
Later in the day we headed over to Chris's parents house for hot dogs and hamburgers.
After chowing down, Jack and his dad played in the pool before a nice long nap at Grandma's.
Later that night, we horned in on my brother and sister-in-laws long time tradition of watching Fireworks at Rotary Park in Scottsdale. We also took this opportunity to celebrate Lou Lou's birthday (her real bday is 07/01).
.

We arrived at the park just early enough to let the boys run and run and play and play. The dads packed balls and bats and gloves- everything you could ever imagine. (oh yeah- and they let Jack and Wes play too).
I played up the pregnancy card and requested KFC for our picnic dinner. (to me- there's nothing better than fried chicken at a summer picnic).
Jack was too busy to sit still and eat. He had a whole park to play in.

However- he did manage to stop and sneak a bite of Lou Lou's watermelon.
Before we knew it- it was show time!
We didn't know if Jack would like the fireworks- so he started on his dad's lap....

...but then moved down to a blanket to be with Katie and all the other cousins.

We had such a fun time... mostly because everybody turned out to watch the Fireworks together.
The Dinoffrias, the Lofgrens, the Mobilias, The Erhards, and even a few of the Marinis were all there.

That's the spirit, Jack. Go America!

(PS- yes- there was a wardrobe change for Jack. We're no dopes- get the kid in his jammies for the long car ride home).

We hope everyone had a fun 4th of July. We can't wait to share next year's with Baby #2!

Wow! How fun!! That photo of him with the flag is SO cute!! What a fun Fourth!
